International Fins built “A Shade Better” in the USA

Oversized fins on the new Will County Courthouse required large extrusions not readily available in the U.S. Despite this, the contractor felt strongly about simplifying the job and keeping everything American made… and that’s where AGS came into play.

“Most other manufacturers steered clear of this one, but we just had to figure out a way to make it happen.” remembers John Trainor, General Manager at AGS, Inc. “The difficulty lies in the large tapered fins consisting of 2-parts – and how we could make this 2-part die work. The fins required re-enforced oversized endcaps finishing off extremely sharp mitered extrusions. This job had some challenges, but we were prepared to address them one by one until we were sure the customer would be absolutely satisfied.”

The fins consisted of a rear clip and front fascia with concealed bolts and threaded alignment rod. AGS was able to do all cuts, welding and assembly in house to maintain excellent craftsmanship and continuity throughout the project.
